 How 'bout Excel Saga? It should have been released on DVD by now, then next year you can ask Nabeshin (one of the characters, is actually the producer) as a guest star, I heard he's a great entertainer at conventions.
Other suggestions: Noir, Kodomo no Omocha, Love Hina, any Gundam series, Rave, Pipi Longstocking (just kidding!), there are so many great series, surprise us Otaku's!
