 Al Pacino and Sean Penn directed by Brian DePalma is reason enough to view this movie. You get superb acting by the two leads and DePalma's creative camera work.

Pacino plays Carlito who gets out of prison by underhanded dealings from his sleazy cocaine addicted lawyer, played by Penn. Carlito wants to go straight but the story is how things conspire to draw him back into the crime world.

Viggo Mortensen has a small role as Carlito's paraplegic friend who tries to get him in trouble with the law. Despite the short screen time, a fan of Viggo's acting will want to watch this movie. Pacino is a great actor but Viggo steals the scene from him.
