I just wanted to thank all those who have been writing on the forum and emailing. I have been busy and have not been good about getting back but I am really missing everyone so I want to hear from you all because I have been able to now get on the computer more!
I have been interning ay WOU and having fun! I have been having good experiences with my mentor and other interpreters on campus who have been chatting with me.
I got permission just a little bit ago to start interpreting and I have been really liking it!
As for Kate's question about getting interested in the material I can relate to that. It happened to me in the beginning a lot during class. I started to answer things in my head or think of questions or things I would say. What I did for myself was start reading the text that is required for the class to know what was going to be discussed and taught before I go. One class that I am at is so interesting with all the slides and the teacher who is just awesome and you can tell just loves her job is so interesting that I find myself feeling like a student. But I have been seperating that more now. I just journal about it at home and get all my questions and comments out of my head and on the paper. The teacher has talked to me a bit after class about the class and some of the questions I have. I dont know if that helps but I know what you are feeling.
Well I am so glad we have this so everyone can talk! I hope everyone is having fun, and I have to say I miss that security of knowing that Tuesday morning I will see all of you, but anyway have a good day and lets keep writing and emailing!!
Lauren
