In reply to: a former merchant 's message, "value" on 23:01:43 11/05/02 Tue

Just as with real life you won't have a good idea of
something's value unless you're pretty good at appraising
things. Someone might hand me a Ming Vase and ask me how
much I thought it cost. With my knowledge of vases and the
fact that usually at Target you can get a plastic vase for
about $1 and a glass one for about $2 I'd probably tell them
the Ming Vase is worth around $2.
I'd most likely be way off.

If you're not that good at appraising things you'll be way
off until you get better at it. And as you get better you'll
get more reasonable ranges. You might check one arrow and
it may get the value of 20 gold and a similar will be priced
at 25 gold. That will tell you the real price is in that range.
