I've played a couple of very successful merchants and I have yet to figure that out. I'd imagine its not something you could do without immortal assistance, since giving players in general the ability to control the locks in the game is very open to abuse.

Unless someone comes along to answer the question, my suggestion would be you just role-play it out and send the log in to the MUD acount. Odds are if its within reason, it'll get setup for you.

Just a heads up though, before you start e-mailing in with dozens of requests, make sure you have an established character and a legitimate and well-founded reason for wanting whatever it is you're e-mailing in about.
