Most veteran players come to realise that the 4lands skill
system is a Catch-22. The more you want to have good skills
the less likely you will get them. The less you care about
your skills the better your character will get.
The focus of the Four Lands is role-play, even if you're on
your own and you have your character do what he would most
likely be doing in real life you'll be better served. I used
to be a big powergamer, I've watched many players who have
powergamed a lot and I took out all the tricks of the trade.
Though it's not really a system set up to punish powergaming,
it's based as closely to how people learn in the real world.
I tried to make the skill systems as much a reflection of your
character's experiences instead of a definition of what your
character is.

As for sneaking and hiding, those are things that last a
bit, it's not just a room by room thing.
