I believe that has to do with the fact that the old forge

system and the new system are still in place. I've not

yet phased out the old forge system though I plan to do

so.

The old system was set up so you could hold some raw metal

in your hand and do 'forge sword' and you'd start

forging that sword through it's various levels of quality

swords using up raw metal that was in your inventory to

add on to it.

But with the new craft system it's not really needed as

long as I have the same number of objects set up to be

forged as I had with the original system.

So you might want to stick with the new system since I'll

probably phase out the old system eventually.
