Subject: Job search

Unfortunately, as with much of the IT industry, my office

has shut down and I've been layed off.

With this comes the joyful job search. And fortunately for

me I'm not in critical need of a job -right away- so I

will be taking some time off this summer and playing it

wisely, seeking the more lucrative jobs first and then

working my way down the ladder.

So my first step is to put out some feelers in the game

industry. Though I've done this before and found that

that industry is much like the movie business in that

there are a lot more interns and wanna bes than there

are actual workers. So it pretty much comes down to

-who- you know.

This is the reason for my posting here. All the players

of The Four Lands have seen first hand what my coding

abilities are. And there's more of you than there is

me, and I know absolutely nobody in the game industry.

So, I'm hoping that one of our wonderful players out

there might have some connections. If so, drop them a

line and tell them what a great opportunity that has

arisen and what a great programmer I am and how I can

help make their next video game kick some major ass.

Wouldn't you like to see some of the cool features of

The Four Lands in a video game? I think it would be

pretty cool myself.

My resume is at http://www.elwar.com/resume.html

Though while I'm out of work I'll be able to do some

more coding for the MUD.

The MUD's staying up, I've set the server up in

a good home until I get to wherever I end up.
