I'm generally a proponent of self-experimentation, but I've gotten stumped lately - can a skill be used and/or improved if it's not listed in that character's Skills List? For example, I've attempted to 'carve' before, and gotten the message 'You settle in to refine your work.' or some such. Despite this, after waiting a good chunk of time, nothing seems to happen. As my deligent character could tell if she was making any progress, I hope no one sees this as asking for unreasonable information.
Thanks! :-)
