Last night had been bitter and with the coming dawn the air warmed slightly. The sun did not shine for grey balls of cotton wool, the clouds, now ruled the heavens. A patch of ground heaved as a bedraggled ball emerged. *** Wolfgans moved away from where he had spent last night, or more precisely the early hours of the morning, now just as the day begun he had awoken. Late finishes and early starts did not really affect him since this had been the norm from when his pack had brutally slaughtered his mate and tried to do the same to him. *** Briefly, Wolfgans inspected his surroundings before settling down to groom himself.
