All Essex graduates are invited to descend on the Lincoln Inn on Friday March 7th from 6 - 8 PM! Come early to reserve a table.

Hope to have at least a core group of creative people to begin the process of mapping out the alumni picnic plans. There may also be an adult only evening event after the family event that is being planned.

i hope we can start to delegate folks to work on specific areas.

please mark the date on your calandar and spread the news about this dinner/meeting! hope to see you there!

I'd forgotten that there was a boysweekend event planned for this weekend. Oh well, if any of the boysweekend wives need a ride to the Lincoln Inn, be sure to call me!

Anybody else from the Class of '78 know about this gathering? It would be our 25th year.

it would be great to have you join us at the lincoln inn this friday night chris!

i think you are having a 25th reunion this summer, but i haven't yet heard which weekend it is. once you find out you could post it here, as one more way to get the word out.

Even if our first year event is very small, it could build over the next several years as people pass the word...

those who showed up at the Lincoln Inn last Friday included: David Prior's wife Kristin and son Lynden; Janice Russotti; Chick Halpin; Roger Prescott and daughter Jennifer.

We talked about several possible locations for the August 9th event. Indian Brook Reservoir has been ruled out. More details later.

I found section 303 of village ordinances prohititing consumption of alcohol in village parks. I spoke w/Parks and Rec and got confirmation that alcohol would not be permitted even for such a responsible group as us.

Didja know, though, that Essex Junction is planning its second annual block party on Railroad Avenue for June 21st? The village manager is happy to hear from people wishing to participate.

Hmm, what next?

Well Chick, I suggest we keep on looking for a place to have a friendly, family picnic on August 9th that is preferably near essex, with electricity for outdoor music, has water for swimming, and allows adult consumption of alcoholic beverage in limited quantities... If anyone has any ideas, please put them forth.

At the Lincoln we discussed these other back-up locations: Redrocks (Cliffside); Shelburne Beach and The Sandbar. All of these are further away from Essex than I'd hoped, but any would probably work for the other categories listed above. Also, for 50 or less, and if we don't get more interest we may be close to this, Jim oneil has offered the use of his place in No. Hero.

Janice volunteered to let us use a portable stage that she has access to for setting up the open mic. By the way, we are taking names of those who may want to sing, read, or whatever, including family members...

We will be meeting again at the Lincoln Inn on Friday April 11th to keep hashing out the details on this. All are welcome to join us, or chime in here at anytime with suggestions, comments, etc...

Hi Tim, Good to hear that you are making some progress on plans, even if the original spot was nixed. Just wanted to say that if my schedule allows, I'll try to come join you on April 11th--will you be at the Lincoln Inn again? I'm in Vermont that week for rehearsals. Talk to you later--Brina
