sounds like you know a lot about boats Patty. I'm interested in a two or three man canoe, preferably as light weight as possible; plastic or aluminum. Burt (KR) showed me a nice two man kayak last fall at Umiak that might work as well, but I was hoping to find a used one for less. He told me that a bunch of you guys still get together for hiking and camping and stuff.

You could ask Bert if he has any of his boats he'd like to get rid of. Plastic boats are generally heavier than fiberglass or kevlar, although can take a beating without major damage. Check out the Fiddlehead Slalom in East Montpelier on Sunday, May 12th! Whitewater slalom race on the Winooski River just below the Green Mt. Power dam in E. Montpelier. Ray Ingram is the race director. It's part of the New England Slalom Series of races through Vermont, NH and CT and NY.
