hey ken! good to hear from you and thanks for the encouragement. Still haven't had as much interest in this site as i would like, but not giving up yet.

if you get a chance, go check out the boysweekend site. we're getting a lot of hits there. joe has even put up some movies on the events page.

I visited a couple of weeks ago and tried to post a response message. The board wouldn't take the message unless I went through some sort of sign in process so I bagged it. Is that board exclusive?

hey webmaster, can you fix this problem??

ken, you've been holding out on us. playing gigs all over the south! nice picture of the band too! it looks like Georgia life has been good to you; you've hardly aged!

is it ok if i post that pic at BW???

Hi Tim, Ken! It seems to be an AOL problem over at boysweekend.com. I've resigned myself to never posting there, boo hoo...love reading it, though, and Dave's photos are great!

Merry Christmas, guys! We have snow here in Minnesota but nothing like what you Vermonters have been blessed with so far this season. Wow.

I'll be in Vermont in late January for rehearsals. Can't wait.

Cheers,
Brina

Brina, it's like you said, AOL is the problem. Here's what I found regarding the problem using AOL on some message boards:

"My AOL based users keep getting logged out!
phpBB2 uses sessions to keep track of users as they browse the board. These sessions use a combination of a unique session id and the users IP to identify each user. We make use of the IP as an extra safe-guard to help prevent sessions being hijacked (by discovering the unique session id).

Unfortunately this only works when the users IP is constant as they browse the board. For most users this will be the case. However certain providers route their users via a cluster of proxys. In some cases, particularly AOL this results in different IPs being forwarded as the user moves between pages. We take account of this by not checking the entire IP but only the first "three quads". Again in most cases this will be fine. However again AOL uses IPs which can vary so much that checking only the first two quads results in a fairly static IP being available for session validation.

If you are experiencing problems related to this the administrator can make a small change to the code. Please note that reducing the IP validation length does potentially increase the risk of sessions being hijacked (this is something for you to consider, phpBB Group takes no responsibility should anything happen!). The change requires you to open the file sessions.php in the includes/ directory of the distribution."

I won't be modifying the code, BW.com gets too much traffic and I need to keep hackers out.
Ken, are you using AOL? I have seen many times on many boards folks having problems with AOL. AOL sucks.

Thanks for checking into it, Joe. I haven't been unhappy with AOL, but I think I should have a second e-mail address anyway, maybe I can do that and then start visiting and posting from there. I'll see what I can do.

I'm in awe of your snow accumulation! Wow!!

I'll be in Vermont in late January for rehearsals. Don't like to go too long between visits. Take care, and thanks again.

P.S. I love the way you guys rally around each other, case in point: Dave's son Lynden going into the hospital tomorrow. Really, it's very cool the way you guys support each other. I'm all verklemt just thinking about it.

Hey brina,

Merry Christmas to all EJHS alum!
Snowblower finally bit the dust and I can't do anything about it so thought I'd check in (after MANY months!).
Great site Tim! Has VT got the most snow of all visitors?
Interesting tech stuff Joe. Sorry, I got to the part about "cluster of proxys" and kinda nodded off. However, I remember my dermatologist gave me a cream for that and it worked pretty well. I still have some left if anybody wants to try it..
