Subject: Something wrong with my mare...please help!

hello,
In the past year, I have noticed severe changes in my mare. I first noticed it last winter. I thought at first it was just because she was pregnant, but this didn't seem like normal pregnancy issues to me. She got very sick and dropped down to a unhealthy weight. It didn't matter how much extra we fed her, or how warm we kept her she just wasn't right. Her coat became dull, she was stiff and sore, and just wasn't the same. When it did finally warm up, it seemed to get better. She was turned out on a good sized pasture all summer where she could be monitored. She had her colt in june and seemed to be fine. Then, this fall she dropped off again, even though we were prepared. We never did breed her again after her last foal was born. We thought maybe she just needed a break. But it was the same thing. We kept her close to the barn and on feed at all times. We had a very mild winter, but she still was off. Ever since, she has been more and more off. She seems to be in pain all the time. Her hind end almost seems to not work well, and she limps on all four legs at times! i had my vet out and he took blood and she ended up being anemic, but we took care of that, hoping it would fix things. It didnt. She has gained more weight but my once gorgeous, bright eyed mare is in so much pain still and her appearence completely changed! I don't have any more idea's on what this could be! If anyone has any idea's, please email me at countingcrows_07@yahoo.com ...Pleas, I'm very desperate! I love my mare and I want to fix her more than anything! thank you,
Mesa Pate
