Subject: How can I make a foster kitten more attractive? (This is my last question for the day. Probably!)

I have two female kittens remaining from a foster litter. I think they are adorable (of course) but they don't seem to "show well." They have short hair but kind of fluffy and not slick haired -- in fact the tortie (Mamie) has somewhat long hair and will have an attractive coat someday with a foofy tail. Tiffany is all black. Yesterday they had the best cage -- a large cage (about 3 x 3 x 2). It was the first cage and at eye level and still nobody wanted them. I had put a little lavendar cloth collar on Tiffany thinking it would dress her up a bit so maybe she wouldn't look quite so dark. Was that a bad idea? I'm told by the counselors that they were both active and attracted attention. Quite a few kittens found homes, but my "girls" were rejected. They are getting bigger and less adoptable by the minute! They will probably go to PetSmart to try again next Saturday. Is there anything at all I can do?
