The Miss Universe System is an international beauty pageant for women aged 17 to 26. The women compete in 3 phases of competition which include: Interview 33%, Evening Wear 33% and Swimwear 34%.


DOMINICAN REPUBLIC Ruth Ocumarez is the first black woman from her country to participate in Miss Universe. At 5'11", she is a professional model and is determined to win!
