There will be three simultaneous events to chose from. The
popular "Three Amegos," as in the past; but now also the
"Shootout" (a variation of the Three Amegos) and the PI- type event.

The Three Amegos and Shootout are for any VLF-type detector
capable of "hitting" a small surface nugget of 3 to 6 grains. The Three Amegos is so named as three friends, old or a new acquaintence, intitially share a "square" and work together until (1)all of the participants in each square have found one nugget, then the entire field--- all squares--- are opened for all to hunt; or (2)after about 20 minutes into the event the hunt chairman declares the field open.

The PI-type event is different. No gold in the field. The targets will be variously painted Jefferson nickels buried (planted) at different depths; from about a foot or more to
shallow. The nickles will be redeemed by their color after the event.

There will also be a "kids hunt" which will be small flakes fastened to an enhancer such as washers. It will be before or after the other events.

The Shootout is not divided into squares. One field and it is every paticipant for his/her self.

In both the Three Amegos and Shootout small nuggets will be actually placed on top of the ground (Not buried) and just covered with a sprinkle of dirt.

This event requires a lot of preparation. It is time consuming to prepare field. I'm one of the coolie laborers and the PLP welcomes all of the volunteers to lay out the field. Several PLP members will place the targets. Therefore
for anyone interested in participating it is critical to let the PLP know in advance. In this event "bigger is not better," as quality control essentual.

I have attempted to explain this event; for more detail and a less rambling explanation contact Dee Stapp at Stapp Mining. She is the PLP hunt chairman. This is the second time the Taft prospecting club has hosted this event. It will be at/near their property in Benson Canyon just below the PCSC "Red Chispa." Saturday April 24th at 1:00 PM, the week after Primm. Cost $35.
