Yes I did. Too far away to do any good plus the expenses when I've got the Ancient River at Goler Gulch just 2 hours away (which is bad enough). A close friend of mine is from the bay area and his dad did placer and hard rock mining in the Sierras and so he was the one that put forth the idea of chasing the Motherlode.

I guess you saw my request for help on Steve Herbecks Alaska forum. Boy that Robin Grayson is quite an asset to the forum, what knowledge and experience.

But I've been steadly gathering all the information available on the Goler Formation and would like to move into the next phase, albeit slowly and carefully. I'm told the area has been claimed up solid now that gold has gone up,those fools are just going to sit on the land even though we're almost to 1980 prices. Unless they've talked to the same geologist I had who's surveyed the area their wasting their time, been gone over twice already with heavy equipment (draglines+steamshovels).

That's ok, I can wait em out. Eventually just like 1980 gold will come down again and they'll drop those claims.

If you have any ideas John I'd certainly like to hear them since you're from this area and familiar with the El Paso's most likely.

Thanks for the advice regarding the CDMG maps,I'll check them out.

Randy
