Howdy Jim,
I called and talked to Sam yesterday morning. When I mentioned the drywasher he built for me he seemed plesantly surprised and replyed "You mean you're still cranking that bellows"? to which I replyed "Of course, at least whenever I can find some dry ground around here in New Mexico" :o) I told him about the discussion going on here on the "Voy" forum and encouraged him to drop in and post. He said he would take a look. Soooo, we'll just have to wait and see. Jim he does guitars also as you mentioned however I've never had the pleasure of seeing any of them but you can bet they are gorgeous.

Jim I have a fondness for the Randsburg area as I spent many happy days there back in the 1960's. I used to do a lot of motorcycle touring with a friend that bought Harold Beck's old miners cabin in Randsburg. We would cycle up to Randsburg from Altadena (Bob's home) to that cabin for the weekend and holidays (many Thanksgivings). I'd roam the streets of Randsburg and he would ride motorcycle "Enduros" in the area.

I had the opportunity to spend some time on one of the GPAA claims across the valley from Randsburg, over near the old ghost town of Garlock, about three years ago. Found a few pieces of gold with my XT17000 while there too!! Ahhh the sunsets and looking across the valley at Randsburg as night fell, was a wonderful experience Jim. Love that area. :o)
