Rick I agree. Also Thank You for the kind words on
the TDI forum... I have a Teknetics T2. It is a "David
Johnson." It has a Fe3O4 bargraph that indicates the amount
iron mineralization in the ground. Over the past several
years I have paid attention to the bargraph which indicates
higher cncentrations of magnetic mineralization...

I now believe it is changing mineralization and not the
concentration that causes VLF-types to lead users to believe
the ground is highly mineralized...

With this thought in mind, I now find some of the areas I hunt with the TDI do not require ground balancing...

But using the TDI with the gb off in areas with a layer
of caliche; or the ground is dry (alkali); the target depth
is increased... but now all signals sound the same. So for me, it is best that I choose areas where the ground is "clean."

Gosh Rick... I hope that Randy and others will get back to
posting on this forum. With that said... I thank you for all
