Hi Jim,

Actually, the last time we saw each other was when we met to do some detecting just below Randsburg. I had forgot my headphones and you lent me your Calrads.

I'm thinking twice about going to Dale this weekend, as I'm not sure if I want to traverse the sandy roads all by myself even though I have a 4x4 Jeep Libterty now. And I haven't made up my mind yet for an alternate place. Just may wind up going back out to Goler.

I purchased Eric Foster's Goldquest SS w/11" mono coil and I'm just starting to getting the hang of it. Sure is a different creature than my vlfs and a bit harder to pinpoint, but I'm sure once I understand it better it should prove to be a good nugget machine. Last night I fashioned a temporary polemount modification so that the control box is mounted under the arm rest, making for a very balanced feel. Now I don't have to worry about the coil wire getting snagged on a branch.

Next time you have plans to come out this way, make sure you give me or Randy a holler and I'll keep ya company detecting for a few hours.
