Relax everyone. It is just a matter of coils.

In parts of the cordillera, the worst case scenerio of "mineralization" is the alkali and iron-rich oxides which cause "some" VLF-type to flounder.

In "some" of these "more mineralized areas" within "some" mining districts found in the cordillera; it is here where the "PI-types," such as the 2000, 2100, 2200, Extreme (and also including the Infinium and any other "PI-types" specialized for prospecting applications) are at their best.

Naturally, the different parameters of the various PI-types; as the different parameters of the VLF-types; are factors. To say it another way, the Infinium (as it is right now) has only the 10x14 open spoke DD and due to it's specialized connector plug, only one available headphone.

I am not associated with any manufacturer or sell machines and do not really care which detector I use. A detector to me is as another "tool." It is akin to arguing which is "best" a metal or plastic goldpan; or a constant air viz a bellows drywasher. I use a K&E pocket transit, some use a Brunton.

The important thing is to get out and use "whatever." To have confidence in it and to know the next signal will be gold. But as Tiger Woods chooses a specialized club depending upon the particular needs of whatever "greens" he is playing, we need to select our tools for the various districts we wish to prospect.

I find the Infinium worthy as one of my tools, it is now one of my choices. I do not care if it "discriminates" or not. Naturally, I will pick and choose the areas where I use it and to avoid trashy areas as I have learned to dig all signals when searching for gold. And eventually there will be after-market coils and headphones available to fine-tune it.

Notice it is late. A new day. By birth order, my #2 grand daughter was married on Wednesday, the 28th, and my #1 is a week overdue with our first great-grandchild. "Gold" comes in many forms.
