Hi Ralph,

Good question. When Fisher came out with the Gold Strike I was disappointed. I was expecting a Gold Bug 3. Just take the Gold Bug 2, add a switch for auto or manual ground balance, and a switch for one, the other, or both of two frequencies.

Kind of like the DFX. You can run 3 kHz, 15 kHz, or normally both. In the Gold Bug 3 it would probably be 17.5 kHz and 71 kHz.

On top of the theoretical superior performance on all sizes of gold under all conditions, iron id should be exceptional by comparing response at two frequencies.

It's odd that Minelab has not taken this route with their new Eureka Gold since they have a long history of multiple frequency detectors (Sovereign, Exploer, etc). Instead you chose one of three frequencies; 6.4 kHz, 20 kHz, or 60 kHz. The Fisher CZ series have long employed 5 kHz and 15 kHz in the CZ series. And of course the already mentioned DFX at 3 kHz and 15 Khz.

So seems all the pieces are out there. Someone just needs to put it together. Maybe Dave is working on it, on that's why he can't talk!
