I have an XT18000 and the Tesoro Super Traq,I find gold with both. Both machines handle hot ground with ease, both have Auto Grouund Balance. The 18000 has three freq. 6, 20, 60, I like running in 20, if I hear a faint signal I switch to 60 to increase the response for shallow Nuggets. Personally, I prefer to find larger Nuggets than micro size, but we all are different. The Tesoro is much quicker at distingishing hot rocks. I use them both. The 18000 has a high pitch noise limiter which will block those screamers without blocking the signal.

To tell you the truth, the people I go out with all have different detectors and we all find Gold, I think knowing your machine well is more important than what brand it is, "to a point that is". The old original Gold Bug has probably found as much as any of them. We all have our favorites.
