Chuck--- I originally bought the '79 F-150 4-wheel drive with only 16,000 miles on it in October, 1982. It had oversize mag wheels and a fibreglass shell. Gave $4200 cash plus a 1.25 ounce ugly gold nugget which I found in Nevada.

I still have the truck with only about 160,000 miles. However, I have had recent problems with it--- more than usual--- as far as electrical and oil leaks.

But have "bit the bullet" and getting it fixed. Have always used Napa parts or original replacement.

I have a friend who during this same period has gone through three vehicles. His second was a Toyota 4-wheel drive; knocked out the center main at about 60,000 and then about 1975 bought a F-150 4-wheel drive crew cab.

My '79 is short wheel base, has 400 ci motor, and plenty adequate for me.

I know what you mean about gold. I have sold or traded about three ounces; 1.5 for first set of hearing aids and then 1.5 for a detector. I leave my gold "ugly as found" and let the buyer do what he wants.

Too many macines. As an example I have many--- five or six, old Compass VLF/Tr's; three Fisher Motherlodes, and many other 'oldies.'

I may decide to sell my Original Tesoro Lobo and MicroMAX Diablo and my White's GM-3. I have recently got rid of 8-cases of old treasure magazines; Lost Treasure, Treasure, Treasure Search, W&E, etc, and other odd stuff such as lapidary journals and NRA magazines."

My professional library on two shelves stretching over 40 ft. I have kept all of my Mackay school textbooks plus added extensively and some of my "stuff" dates back to over 100 years ago.

At my age I need to "wind down." I still have a dredge; two Nick's nugget drywashers, and a 1915 Model "T" Ford Touring and a 1914 Model "T" Speedster/Racer.
