Hi Steve,

A few weekends ago I ran across an older newbie "wanna be" detectorist (there's nothing wrong with that) that was having a hard time (year or so) trying to figure out how to learn to operate his brand new "Goldstike" detector. He asked me for some help. I don't believe he read the manual and understood it. First off it's a beautiful detector and I liked the feel of it as well as the tone from signals :o) I read the manual and showed him how to ground balance it for the very first time. Set him up in the other modes for the area so he was off and running. What I didn't like was the hassle it was to set up each setting. First you push a menu button to get your "set-up page" as this is all digital stuff. Then you push that button 2-5 or so times to get to the mode you want to set up!! You then set up that mode by pushing another button and when finished doing that you push another button(prospecting) to start detecting if everything else has been set-up.
