The ability of the Diablo uMax to balance out a hot rock then by toggling back to that setting without disturbing the current GB setting is one of it strong points. It also runs quieter and smoother in hot ground and hot rocks than some gold detectors. It seems to have some of the Gold Bug 2 features except it runs at a lower frequency. Guess the Dave Johson designs overlap in some cases. Good discussion on the hot rock subject.
