Hi Ralph,

I am modifying a Beachscan design so I am limited with what I can do right now.

About the best I can get is about 10 usec delay using a mono coil and still be able to change to a larger coil. This is sufficient for my purposes since I now can detect 2 to 3 grain nuggets. The signals are not earblasters but are definite signals. I do wish I could reduce the sample time independently which would help considerably. Unfortunately, this would take a major modification of the basic design.

If I could easily reduce the sample time, then I think I could detect nuggets in the 1 to 2 grain range.

As it is, I can easily detect a 10 grain nugget with a hotrock sitting on top of it. This is something I coudn't do with the VLF.
