1973 - My First Nugget Detector
White's Coinmaster 4 with 4'' Gold Probe

Hi All,

Well, there has been a long lapse in my posts to my mining journal. The last one was in June after my Ganes Creek trip. I've been getting emails ever since asking for more.

No, I did not quit mining! I just tend to do things in clumps. I'll try and smooth out my journal updates in the future, so there will not be big gaps like this.

In any case, I need to get caught up. Summer is fast approaching, and I'll be off on new adventures soon. So I'll be posting last summers trips rapidly at this point. Look for a new story roughly every week. I've just put up the first new one, which actually goes back a long time to my first nugget find with a metal detector.

The story is very long and has several nice photos, so the best bet is to follow the link above to read it. It's the first story in the list, and has NEW icons on it, so it will be easy to find.

I hope you enjoy it. Look for more every week from last summer.
