Subject: Goldmaster 6" Elliptical vs 4" Round Coils

Hi All,

Well, forget the 4" round coil. I received the one Rattlesnake sent me today. My tests on it with gold quartz samples revealed it to be no more senstitive than the stock 10" DD coil. Also, it is very prone to signals when bumped.

I'm not sure about the lack of sensitivity, except for the fact that the 6" coil is much narrower and therefore effectively a smaller coil. I'm sure the bumping problem is due to the 6" being epoxy filled and the 4" being a typical foam filled coil. At hopped up gain levels the epoxy filled is the way to go. Zero possibilty of movement internally from knocking around.

So I'm very curious to hear a report from Rattlesnake on the 6" coil. If what I'm seeing is any indication he will be impressed. I'm really excited about that coil!
