I just received this mail from Tessa's nana Judy. I would also like to thank all of you who prayed for Tessa. Words aren't enough. God bless.
Hi,,,,thank all that prayed for Tessa,,,,the doctor was amazed at how well Tessa came through the surgery. She lost very little blood,,everything went smooth and she looked great after the surgery. The doctor said most kids look like they went through the war. I said a lot of prayers have gone up for her. Ken and I just got home from Grand Rapids, Tessa went home from the hospital yesterday, the doctor feels they heal better in their own surroundings, and the parents don't get so worn out...
They had to break her leg to get the right angle for the hip socket to be bolted in with a metal plate to hold it in. The surgery was very extensive, they pulled her stomach muscle and her buttock muscle around to surround the hip socket, she is in a big "purple" cast, (Tessa got to pick the color). She has a reclining wheel chair and Ron got a crib to put in the living room so she doesn't have to be carried up and down stairs. They have a conversion van and Ron fixed the bed with the seat belts and harness they supplied to strap her in to come home. Tessa has her little angel spirit still and only cried one time that she was in the hospital and that was when they were unhooking her iv from the other tubes, go figure,,,,Melani thinks she must have thought they were going to start another iv. Other than that she never complained and was a little trooper. Her throat was sore from the breathing tube,,,,so it took a while for her to drink anything. She's eating and drinking and doing wonderfully now....
Melani and Ron are a great team, but with this and the 7 other children to deal with they appreciate the prayers for them and for their family,,,they always have something "else" going on,,,,Emily came home with head lice yesterday and today they are cleaning everything that little heads touch.....plus the heads,,you know how that is. And the worry of infection for Tessa's wounds is a great concern, she is cut in several places,,,they released muscle in one leg and cut a tendon that was drawing her foot up on the other leg.....so keep praying and thank all,,,,,,,,isn't our God WONDERFUL ! Judy
