As you have probably heard, Bill Clinton is heading back to the hospital to have scar tissue removed and fluid drained from his chest. I think he should read and sign this before he goes - just in case:


My fellow Americans, thank you for your kind words and prayers as I am about to again undergo surgery. Because God has given me a second chance, I must clear my conscience.


I am so sorry that I disappointed many of my fans. But more than that, I am sorry for the things I did to others, especially women.


Paula Jones, I am sorry. I did what you said I did.


Juanita Broaddrick, I am sorry. I did what you said I did.


Kathleen Willey, I am sorry. I did what you said I did.


Linda Tripp, I am sorry. We were trying to set you up to take a fall. You were right to tape record conversations to protect yourself.


Monica, I am sorry. I should have never taken advantage of you as I did, but I am weak.


Dr. Lewinsky, I am sorry that your name is now associated with a sexual act. What I did with your daughter was unforgivable, but I ask for forgiveness.


Kenneth Starr, you are a decent and honorable man. I am so sorry that I allowed people on my team to trash you in public. You didn't deserve that, and it shouldn't have happened.


I am sorry that I allowed the transfer of missile technology to the Chinese communists. I needed the money for my campaign, and it didn't matter from where it came.


To all the others, I am sorry I committed perjury, obstructed justice, produced false affidavits, threatened witnesses, and tried to subvert the legal system.


Hillary and Chelsea, I am sorry I publicly humiliated you. Sometimes I just couldn't help myself. I have no self control. Hillary, what you want to do to this country cannot happen. Please resign from the Senate and do some kind of work to help people. All the criminal activity has to end now, and you need to begin making restitution. The closer you come to your own mortality, the more clearly you will understand what I am saying.


There are many others who are owed an apology. I wanted power so badly and wanted to hold onto it so badly, that I just could not tell the truth and was willing to hurt others to keep it.


I am sorry I divided America. The vast right wing was not out to get me. They just wanted me to be accountable for what I did.


With a clear conscience, I prepare to go into surgery without fear. A great weight has been lifted, and I no longer fear my mortality.


God bless America. May the healing of our nation be my legacy.
