Why am I just "itching" to send this to my sister? For those of you who have never met her (which is pretty much everyone here, with the exception of Deb, who is currently visiting beautiful Glens Falls, NY), my sister works harder than anyone, is more exhausted than anyone else at the end of the day, has more problems, is sicker, has less free time, her feet hurt more, her back hurts more...

And every time I see her, I just want to break into a rousing chorus of "Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen."

Congratulations, Sis! You are now the new Great Aunt Nellie in the family. The job sucks, but someone has to do it. It's tradition. Just like the black sheep, every family needs a member who whines and moans. We all need a relative to whom we can compare ourselves. It helps us keep our own troubles in perspective.

Besides, now that I've watched that particular torch be passed from one generation to the next, I can breathe easier. I can look in the mirror and laugh and say, "Thank God I am not my own Great Aunt Nellie!" That job went to someone else more qualified.
