Subject: INJUSTICE for POCOCK descendant, Mark Coleman

Mark Coleman is a 4x great grandson of Captain Nicholas Pocock, a founder member of the Old Watercolour Society, who was commissioned, in 1805, to illustrate the life of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson.

Mark's pedigree is forged from a long line of distinguished members of British Society. So WHY is the current Home Office ignoring any perception of common sense, and insisting that he should be sent back to Zimbabwe, to an uncertain fate under the regime of Mugabe's thugs? His only crime is that none of his parents or grandparents were born in England, although they were born in British Colonies.

His grandfather, Lieutenant Eric Innes Pocock, survived the Burma Death Railway as a Japanese prisoner of war; his great-grandfather Colonel Herbert Innes Pocock, was a doctor who served with the Army in British India; and another great-grandfather, Colonel Albert Coleman, was a surgeon commissioned into the Indian Medical Service by Queen Victoria.

However, it seems that the Home Office is unwilling to take any of this into consideration, and are making an example of him to show their new hard stance in enforcing immigration laws.

This case of nonsensical injustice has been widely reported in the national press, and is receiving the attention of Boris Johnson MP. You can read his column HERE and add any useful comments. You can also read the online articles from the following newspapers: Sunday Times, The Telegraph, or Google for other reports & views.

If you wish to show your disgust, you can add your name to an online petition to the Prime Minister HERE.

The Home Office is receiving so much bad press for all their current failures, it would be a pleasant change to see them get something right.
