I am trying to trace the parents of Brice Fripp (1835-1903) approx. Ann Fripp seems to be the main candidate but verbal information from my father(deceased)refered to an Mary Fripp. The family story said Brice was the illigitimate son of a member of the Birtie family, and was born in Drummord Castle. Certainly all other facts mentioned by my father, including Brice fighting in the Crimea War checks out. Any ideas?

Hello Bean, We called off the hunt when unable to reconcile Sarah Frampton with John Fripp in 1670-1690. I had been checking on the Frippus site but not much activity. So I worked on my side of the family. Joy doesn't want to buy a web database, searching for a price, so I am confined to working in the library. I ran across your site and thought I would 'freeload, if you don't mind. I was awed by its expanse. Thanks, Lawrence
