Well i didn't see Liz last night, but the night before, and let me tell you it was GREAT!! I met all these awesome Liz fans that were very nice, and i was practically LEANING on the stage, so I was very happy! I saw her one other time before, but that was at the Now and Zen Fest with other people, so this was by far better! This concert was great, and I knew all the words to all the songs, even Flower (which was the first song she sang), and some people thought it was weird that I knew all the words to Flower, being only 13.

After the show, my mom got one of her guitar picks from the Rodie, and i was excited about that. We waited outside by the stage door, and Liz's tour bus for like 2 hours in the freezing cold with prostitutes wandering around with whiskey bottles (my mom said it was a "good experience" for me). I met Marco, the drummer, and the key boardist (forget his name). They were both really nice and I got pictures with them.

Finally Liz Phair came out and my mom saw her first, so she grabbed my arm and pulled me up to meet her. OK, so here's me standing right in front of LIZ PHAIR, my idol since i was almost 10, and i had no idea what to say, i was in shock! Then Liz says to me: "Oh, I loved you! You were the girl in the front row!" NOT KIDDING ABOUT THIS I SWEAR OT GOD! She remembered me!! then i said "yeah that was me!" and then i got two pictures with her, one with just me and her, and then another with Liz, me, and my mom. While we were taking that picture, she told my mom that my mom was the coolest mom ever to bring her daughter to a concert on a school night, and then wait outside for about 2 hours.

I also told her that I have the same birthday as her (which is so cool by the way), and she said: "No Way!!" Then i got a couple of autographs, and i also asked her to sign my hand, so I could show everyone at school the next day, and Liz said: "Oh, sure.Don't worry one time I signed some girl's boobs in Las Vegas" haha

Anyway, Monday night at the Warfield was the BEST day of my life, and i had SO much fun at the concert, and meeting Liz afterwards. Everyone at school was so jealous. All day at school on Tuesday, I kept saying "I met Liz Phair! HAHAHAHAHA!" Then all my friends: "Shut up, Tei."

Tei,

I think I saw you there. I was there when Marco came out the backstage door after the show. You were all freaking out. Unlike you, I am 34 years old and a concert veteren of almost 600 shows. I noticed you because you looked very young on THAT street at almost midnight on school night. Your mom is super cool and it reminds me of the days my father would take me to shows when I was a wee tyke. My only words of advise are never, ever trust boys (or men) and don't eat the brown acid.

I agree that Liz Phair on Monday at the legendary Warfield Theatre was an oasis.

Stay cool,
g
