Subject: Whats The Big Deal?

Saw this gal on Letterman tonight and quite frankly I dont see anything great about her. She looks average at best, serious bags under her eyes, can't play guitar to save her life, no fashion sense at all. Correct me if I'm wrong here gang. She's simply not attractive nor can she hold a note. On the Letterman show she looked like a tired old groupie who'd been rode hard by bikers and put away sticky. Whats the big deal?

Maybe she was tired. Her current tour is almost over. Maybe she needs a rest. I dont know too many people who are at there best when worn out. I know the feeling, it comes with lots of work.

this is my first venture here.

but for the question, its all about the attitude. Liz to me was special. she was, in the 90's & IMHO, the first angry white female singer. she can sing and play much better than Miss Alanis, who got all the recognition. she can also sing not from a one sided sex feeling. when she sings about feelings, you don't have to be female to appriciate. "I want to be mesmorizing...too", can that not speak for anyone, man or woman?

while, i can't say anything about the performance, as i did not see it, the possible answer of a not so good show from being tired could be it. i don't know. i can say that i've seen her do "Never Said" unplugged for 120 minutes(now i'm dating myself) that was better than the recorded version.

personally, i'm having a hard time with the "PoP" star version of my favorite female singer. i want the AWF, i want more songs like "Fuck and Run", "Flower", "Jealousy", "Divorce", "Go West", & "Nashville". but i don't write the songs, or pay her to write and record music. so for me, it's taking a little longer to listen to the new album.

as for her, herself. Liz's first album was recorded by herself on a 4 track recorder. she did it herself, taught herself how to play the guitar, as well as playing the piano. i don't know who you like, and what youur expectations are, but i like her.
