Subject: Similar to Liz Phair

Am I the only one who thinks Skye Sweetnam is a lot like Liz Phair? They both have catchy lyrics, and a style that definately is their own. If you want to know a little more about Skye Sweetnam check this out! http://www2.fanscape.com/skyesweetnam/TUIM.asp

you might be. i haven't listened to much of Skye's stuff, and maybe am not appreciating it as you are, but she strikes me as much less lyrically sophisticated and creative(though she apprears to be quite young still). Liz doesn't just rhyme and tell generic stories, she uses words to express things that most people are sometimes unable to feel for themselves, let alone feel--and when you hear the words you just wanna explode cause they hit it so well. "your kisses are as wicked as an M-16," "it feels like i've got something to prove but in some ways its just something to do..."

Liz's is not just entertainment, which is all most music nowadays shoots for. in my book, there aren't many artists nowadays that have stayed honest to themselves and their art, and maybe Liz will or is changing, but to me, her's is still art.

Rock on Liz.

Sigh... About 2 years ago this message board was clogged with 10-year-old girls thinking it was an Avril Lavigne board. Let's not do this with Skye Sweetnam.

She's disposable kiddie pop. An ice cream headache: Momentarily irritating, then it just goes away...
