What I do with the new album is simply program just the songs Liz wrote by herself. They're great, up with the rest of her work even with the slick production, which is only a slight distraction. Those tracks, plus the internet ep, make for a healthy dose of more great Liz. The Matrix a collaboration was a mistake but did not warrant the ridiculous critical reaction, which seems to have been one of those backlashes that the reviewers seem to need to inflict on yesterday's darlings from time to time, much as they did to Tanya Donelly for "Lovesongs for Underdogs". I have embraced the new Liz songs as consistent with the Liz we have all come to love. She's still our girl.

Yeah, I agree. The songs she wrote herself are better than the ones on which she collaborated. There seems to be nothing witty or interesting about those ones. The rest of the album is pretty good I thought.

That's a good idea. I should burn a cd of the EP and the Liz only songs from the new album.
