Re: What other kinds of music do you guys like? -- AimeeMann, 11:29:19 12/11/02 Wed
A favorite? errrrr....that's such a hard question--I love all of her albums. Well, the first I really listened to was I'm with Stupid, so that kind of has a special place...plus I LOVE the way that album sounds. I love the Magnolia soundtrack, Bachelor #2, and Whatever. I'm currently obsessed with listening to Lost in Space--it's a fucking depressing album and I love it.
Current favorites from each album(changes all the time):
Whatever: I Should've Known, 4th of July, Say Anything
I'm With Stupid: You Could Make a Killing, Ray, You're With Stupid, & Frankenstein(I read somewhere that they put bolts in the drum snare for this one, I just thought that was cool)
Magnolia-well really the whole thing..especially Momentum
Bachelor #2: Calling It Quits(for its freaky lyrics and music)Just Like Anyone, Susan (damn catchy), and Ghost World(loved the movie too).
Lost In Space: Invisible Ink, Humpty Dumpty, Lost in Space...and the list goes on
Wow, I think I went a little overboard there- maybe because I just saw her last night at the Orpheum in Boston. I'd expected a sort of sedate show, but she really balanced it out well between her albums- She did a few from I'm with Stupid, some slower Magnolia/Bachelor #2 and Lost in Space songs--an excellent combination of the more musically upbeat songs with the slower ones. My only complaint is that she didn't do anything from Whatever. I remember reading that Liz kneeled before Aimee's feet at one of her shows-I thought that was hilarious. Anyhoo, I'm going to shut up now.
