Subject: Worst case scenario - Liz's new album

No, no, no ... this is my worst case scenario. Remembering the early 9'ties - songs like mesmerizing, flower, chopsticks, shane, jealousy ... the first partys, the first shy phone-calls with girls I've seen on the way home after school, the first dates at the bistro, holding hands, huggin my best friends. I always wanted to meet a girl like the ones Liz sings about. These songs were pure magic. And then, after years of waiting - WCSE. A good album with some good songs, but with the first tries of top-of-the-pops-teenie-pop. Don't get me wrong, Liz has always done nothing else than simple pop-songs, but she defined her own style of pop - with her brilliant lyrics, her lo-fi sounding guitar, ... And then, again - years of waiting. Chan Marshall - another great artist once my "2" on my top 10 list (before she tried to make some money with Eddie Veder vocals and Dave Grohl on the drums) - releases a dissapointing album. Then the first rumors of a new Liz Phair release, (I know that there have always been some rumors bout a new Liz album), and then the start of the offical liz phair homepage, with some samples of her new album - the moment I've been looking forward to since years. And then - the dissapointment of the year! This wasn't Liz, this sounded like a cheap Avril Lavigne - teenie-cover-band!!! I listend to next song - (I forgot the name, I've been to nervous) - the same dissapointment. Than, the last chance - song # 3. The same wanna-be a xxx Avril Lavigne-song. Hey, Liz - what's up? Are you in need of money? Should we send you some, should we start a Liz-Phair-help-foundation? I know, I really know that you can't like these songs - you must hate them. They sound cheesie, they sound like the songs my 10-year old sister like, they sound like the worst reincernation of pop, even youngsters like Pink or maybe Avril make better music. This is the worst comeback ever, I hope you'll get the worst reviews ever for this album, this album is just a bad joke. ----- Excuse my bad english, I'm from Germany.
