Subject: old songs on the tour?

I haven't heard much of the new Liz, but from all the talk I'm a little skiddish. Has anyone actually seen one of her sets with the Lips? Does she play any of her old stuff, is it mostly new, is it good, etc? As it seems is the case with a lot of us, I'm more into the Exile/Girlysound days, but I'm seeing the show on the tenth and hope to not walk away disappointed.

I saw the LA show tonight. She played 2 new songs and and the rest were from older albums. She played Supernova, Glory, Stratford on Guy, Fuck and Run, Divorce Song, Perfect World, Johnny Feelgood. I think that's it. I stayed for Liz's set only and I thought it was pretty neat to see her live, although I would have liked to see her with a full band.

I saw the show in Vancouver on may 25th and it sounds like it could have been the same set as was played as in LA. I was there too for liz not lips and was NOT dissapointed. Whats more is I thought her new stuff was great. i like guyville as much as the next fan but I'm looking forward to another level of liz. Go liz go.

Not close up. Nothing really turned out, I used a disposable camera and I don't have them scanned. They're really not worth it. Can one view your liz photo(s) online?

Yeah I'll try to enlarge them but she looks like a blond ant! but I'll try!

Yeah I really enjoyed the entire show. But I wish her set would have been longer, I might never see her again! Bur she promised to come back but it's uncertain.

WHat was the name of that first band, the guy who played the cello, I thought they were great! the other 2 bnds after that kinda sounded crappie.

I got there just in time for the liz phair set, but I know that "destroyer" was on the bill. I can ask my roomie later if she know's the band with the cello as she was there for the whole show. I saw destroyer before (but it was just dan behar and no band (or cello) when they opened for vic chestnutt a couple of years ago, another very good show.

To keep the liz content up I'll agree with you that it could have been longer but it was still worth it. I bought the ticket specifically b/c she was on the bill but I really enjoyed modest mouse too. They're awesome. The lips were alright but I left early... I was wondering if they needed all that "show" to cover up the fact that their music sucks? (well sucks compared to liz phair of course, this being the lp board)

Liz (can I call her that?) did say she was coming back and that's how I found this board, looking for upcoming tour info.

So it wasn't Destroyer after Liz Phair. Anyway, yeah you can e-mail those pics at sonorite_aeternus@yahoo.ca and I will send you some too.

You'll probably find them useless!

I hope she keeps to her promise and come back with her full band, I did not enjoy the accoustic(although there was an elec. guit)but I guess you can't wish for her to sound exactly like her CD.

In response to Chrissie's post I have heard clips from the new stuff on lizphair.com and Im very dissapointed, its like the new Avril Lavigne, and Im sorry to say, I will not support it by purchasing it, or buying tickets to her shows. Shame on Liz for selling out!!!

Yeah, I was there too!!!!! I love that women!!! I was soooo glad that she performed all the songs that I love except one and that was her new stuff~very SHreyllieee Croweeeish~ hey but then again the moneys where the mainstream is, unfortunately.

I'll see if I can one scanned or something. I have a few but they're all the same and they're not very good but if you just can't get enough of l.p. I understand. If and when I scan em I'll email them to you. I'd like to see yours too but I don't have an email you can send them too so post them to the web if possible.
