Subject: New Album

I am a DJ at my college's radio station and we just got the advance of Liz's new CD. Our rock director wasn't too impressed with it, because he is a BIG fan of her old stuff. I liked it, but I too think it lacks some of the very clever, introspective lyrics that really turned me on to Liz. I can also definately see how some are saying that it sounds way to "Avril Lavagine-like" because well, it does.

That being said...I have only had it two days and I LOVE IT. There are already three songs stuck in my head. Maybe a little change is good since she hasn't released an album in such a while and is now in a different stage in her life. I will certainly be in the store getting it on the 24th.

I agree. Sometimes a little change is good. Considering Ms. Phair is in her mid 30's, she might not be able to pull off some of her previously (well loved) raunchy songs. I'm glad to hear you love the new CD. What's it called?

I really like the Liz album. I've had it for a month now. It's just called Liz Phair.

I even like the poppy songs. They're cute.

I agree that it's good she's made some changes. She would seem a bit silly singing Flower for the rest of her life. It seems like she's happy and wanted to do something lighter.

I agree with Charles. I work at the same radio station and have had the CD for about 2 weeks. It's all I've been playing because it ROCKS!

While is it may be more pop mainstream, it is still very bold with raunchy, out there lyrics because it wouldn't be Liz without them.

I will also be buying it on the 24th because LIZ ROCKS TOO!

PS: Does anyone know if Liz will be tourning in the Philly area?
