Okay, so then lets say that i am a wealthy, happily married, socialite, who wants to have children in a year or two. I have recently signed up for a cruise around the world, when I find out that I am 1 month pregnant. I can;t go on the cruise and have the baby, so I clone the egg, and then have an abortion. 2 years later, when I decide it is time, I put the cloned egg back in my uterus, and bring the baby to term. does this scenario seem ethical to you? If the point that you just made is the decisive factor, and we are forbidden to abort simply because of the uniqueness of the combination, then we could copy the fetus, save it for later and abort it now. We could even abort 1 out of 2 identical twins, since they are genetically identical.
The determining point must be someting other than that.
