The Carr Central High School Class of 1953 has donated to the Mississippi State University Famous Maroon Band in memory of their beloved teacher, Perry B. Dennis, Jr. We have permission to quote Elva Kaye Lance, Director, Maroon Band.
..."His influence and positive impact were very far reaching. He modeled a love of music, a nurturing spirit, and the heart of a servant leader throughout his life."
We couldn't agree more.

In Memory of Perry B. Dennis, Jr.

With a special gift for learning
and with a heart that deeply cared,
You added a measure of love
To everything you shared.

For us, knowing you meant a lot.
We hope you understood how much,
For you helped to change a world
Through every life you touched.

You encouraged a love of music
In the many students whom you taught,
And helped us strive for goals for which
Without you, could never have been sought.

We are who we are because of you.
Your influence on our lives is secure.
Our devotion to you will never end.
We know your legacy will endure.

You were such a special teacher
That no words can truly tell,
How very much we loved you
For the life you lived so well.
