A couple of friends and I made a very brief trip to Nevada and then cut through northern Utah on the way home. We only had a 5-day trip, including travel, so the brief stop-over in Ogden for a few hours didn't allow much time to visit or detect.
Most of the renovation work on Wall and up 30th was picked over and/or filled, but each of us still managed to get a few pieces of silver, a ULATCO child's fare token, and maybe a half-dozen neat 'keepers.' Could have had better weather, and I am trying to plan a week-long visit to Utah later this summer or early fall.
The Ogden area, and on down the Wasatch Front, and out in some desert haunts there has always produced some decent finds! I started plucking stuff out of Ogden's parks and schools back in '68 and it seems like every year, somewhere close, there is some digging going on that rewards the devoted detectorist with silver, older coins, tokens and such.
Heck, just this past week, so I heard, at least two Barber dimes came out of work in Ogden!
