I got to meet Mischke at last year's State Fair for the "Super Talk Saturday" program. It was TD, Jason Lewis, Bob Davis, Rosenbaum, Thompson, Freeman, and a few others doing a show on a Saturday afternoon. Mischke didn't say much during the program and instead let Jason Lewis and the other guys run their mouths while he sat with a stogie in his mouth looking somewhat interested in the discussion. An interesting stood out that day to me. While the station took breaks to run advertising some of the audience would come up to the stage and say a few words and get an autograph or something. Who do you think had the longest line of people waiting to talk with him? Of course TD Mischke. I talked with him for a few minutes and and was impressed by his ease, kindness and naturalness. He's definitely a class act.
I'm somewhat miffed by Am 1500 moving his show to 10 pm but will continue to listen. I emailed the station and receive a response that basically said that Mischke ratings have dropped over the last couple of years and they thought it might be due to him being sandwiched between two hosts who have quite different idealogies than him. They said that Mischke was actually in favor of the change of time and they're going to see if things improve. I have a feeling that Mischke is in favor of the new time slot because the other option is him "hitting the road." We all obviously love his show and need to continue listening and telling others about this great gem on the AM dial.
