well said! I noticed it seemed difficult for him to say -like he was struggling to find the words (unusual for him ;)) and given the film came out in Feb 1997 - over 5 years later and it still has an impact on him. That reviewer won't even remember making that comment, he probably didn't think about it as he wrote it - it probably just seemed a 'clever' and pithy thing for to say at the time, but it obviously did affect Matthew to the extent he's still talking about it now (He was going through an intensely rough period of his life at that time - it couldn''t have helped). It is awful for him as, as Jana said about her, a lot of the criticism isnt leveled at his work but at him personally (as this critic did - notice he even remembered the city?) - and that isn't clever or constructive, it's stupidity expressed in its highest form. I vote we all go to LA and give him a big collective hug.
