Wasn't insulted at all, believe me. And I know it's hard for some people to understand, especially to the degree that I react. Even my sister, who has known me all my life doesn't COMPLETELY 'get it'. And it really depends on the situation.

This weekend, I went to Target, and saw a gal wearing a badge that I recognized immediately... she works at the same renaissance faire that my hubby works at. I just started up a conversation with her, no problem.

Also, I gave birth on national TV... how shy could I be, right? Well, during most of the filming, it was just me, hubby, the kids, and 4 TV people; 2 producers, a camera guy, and a sound guy. I knew one of the producers because of multiple phone conversations and in-person meetings, and the other 3 put me at ease straight away. Still during the 'baby shower segment', I was SO nervous, my voice was shaking when I spoke. I don't look it by the footage they actually showed, but believe me, I was a mess. During the birth... well, I was a wee bit busy and Matthew coulda come in THEN and I probably wouldnt have even glanced twice his way. Well, maybe twice, but probably not three times ;-D

Anyway, I get that it's hard for some people to understand, and, heck, I dont even always understand it, so of course I dont expect others to completely 'get it'. I just know how I am... in fact, hubby teases me about it. He always says "But if you were to meet Matthew, he would need new shoes... after you hurl on them." OR "You'll need a new wheelchair cushion after you pee all over yourself."

So, yeah, I understand that it's hard for some to relate... you're lucky, I wish I could meet people without a sense of panic.
