The reason why I was nervous wasn't anything to do with him particularly -I'm nervous like that meetings, interviews etc - anytime when I meet someone for the first time really. It's personality types - you may be the kind of person who can walk right up to someone and talk to them right away - whether they're god or a celebrity, I just can't. Meeting Matthew Perry just made me even more nervous and this is a guy who I had been a fan of for like 11 years, of whom I had been following his career and life through good and bad from a distance and to finally see him in person was just incredible. I'm not ultra obsessed with him or anything- I just identify with him in some respects and there is just something about him which stands out to me above any other celebrities - the fact he is cute and talented is incidental. You'll find the majority of MP's fan aren't teenagers with just crushes, they are grown women in their 20s, 30s or even 40s who like me (I'm 27), identify with Matthew and everything he has been through and admire him immensely for digging his way out of it.
I first became a fan during his performance in BH90210 where he tried killing himself - It really struck a chord with me. I know he was only acting but he was so so so convincing..I then gradually watched other things he did until he got friends and suddenly everyone knew who he was. It's nice to come to a place and be able to talk about him and meeting him to people who care at least a little bit -most people in my life are like "oh that's nice". Well thats my part - sorry I wasn't on last night Jana, I ended up doing an 18 hour shift until 1am (urgh) but I get today off as my prize ;)
